Westport was celebrating again this week after being named as Ireland's Tidiest Large Town at the SuperValu Tidy Towns awards. It was the third year in a row that Westport won the award for the largest town and they just missed out on scooping the overall prize.

Outgoing Westmeath County Council Cathaoirleach, John Dolan, was present with Jimmy Redmond of Moate Tidy Towns as they recently launched the ‘Choose to Reuse’ project with a number of businesses in the town, namely McCarthy’s Centra, The Pantry, Dún na Sí and Tuar Ard.
